1. Too much choice?
On average how many times per week have you been approached about a new job over the last year?
Once a week
Once a day
Once a month
A couple of times in total
2. Quality Vs Quantity?
How much research do you do on a company before applying for or agreeing to talk about a new job?
None if I already know of the business
None at all really
I’ll look at their website and social channels
I’ll find out as much as I can if I don’t already know of the company
3. Does social proof mean anything anymore?
How much do you trust things like Glassdoor reviews and do they impact your decision making?
Yeah I always look at those things and I trust them
I dont really trust them or pay attention to them
I’m kind of on the fence about them
4. Can money really make you happy?
When you’re considering offers, how big of a factor does the salary play for you?
It’s important but it’s not the most important thing
If I've been approached about a role and wasn’t actively looking then the money plays a big part, it's not worth moving otherwise
A lot, I’ll try to increase my salary as much as possible while the market is buoyant
5. Remote work
How big of a factor is a company's remote or hybrid work policy when it comes to your decision making?
If companies aren’t offering flexible work options, I won't even look at them
I’m not that bothered, to be honest, I‘m happy to be back in the office
I’d like the option of flexible work but it isn’t a huge deal
6. Is remote work right for everyone?
100% remote work options are a hot topic at the moment, but does the benefit of working remotely come with a responsibility for both employer and employee to make it work?
Yes, of course, it’s up to both parties to make it work
Not really, remote is the new normal, get used to it
It’s up to employers to make it work
7. Has work become commoditised?
Does workplace loyalty still exist?
No - Companies will get rid of people quickly if they need to, so moving jobs isn’t a big deal to me
Yes - Once I take a job somewhere, I stay loyal to them
8. How often should you change jobs?
LinkedIn data states that the average job tenure in the tech space is 1.6 years, would you consider moving jobs within 2 years if something interesting presented itself?
9. What about interviewing?
How many interviews do you think are the right amount for both you and a potential employer to get to know each other?
2 is enough
3 is fair for both sides
any more than 3 and I’m out
10. Diversity and Inclusion, is it important to you?
How important is it to you to know that a potential employer values diversity in its teams?
I couldn’t work somewhere where they didn’t
I wouldn't even apply if this was the case
If I really wanted the job I wouldn't let it bother me
